Service Description

Venus Viva treatments are most effective when done as a series of treatments, with at least 3 treatments being completed, usually in 4-6 week intervals. Multiple treatments are needed for full effects and you will continue to see your improvements develop, becoming more and more noticable 2-6 months after your series is completed. How do I prepare for treatment? Please do not apply any lotions, creams, perfumes, powder, or makeup, and avoid prolonged sun exposure prior to your treatment. If you have any skin conditions on the area(s) to be treated, please let us know in advance. What happens during treatment? To ensure that you are comfortable during the procedure your practitioner will apply a topical anesthetic which takes around twenty minutes to take affect. We will then use a special applicator hand piece to deliver the radiofrequency (RF) bursts to the treatment area, which takes about fifteen to twenty minutes, depending on the total area treated. You’ll feel a slight warmth and pinprick sensations, but the pain should be minimal with the topical anesthesia. Most patients handle the treatment very well, and any discomfort is short in duration. Post-treatment downtime? Most patients will experience mild redness for a few days after treatment as the body’s immune system repairs the micro-damage caused by the radiofrequency bursts. However, most patients do not need to take time off and can return to normal daily activities. Your practitioner will provide you with skin care instructions for the first few days after your procedure. You can resume wearing makeup just 24 hours after your treatment. The treated area must stay untouched and dry for 24 hours after treatment. After 24 hours moisturizer should be applied multiple times a day. *Make-up may be applied 24 hours after treatment if desired. Generally 48 hours after treatment, you may use your normal cleanser, but no scrub soaps or exfoliants. *You should be using a high power sunscreen (we recommend Elta MD SPF 45 Clear) and protect the treated area from sunlight for at least one month after the treatment. Tanning of any sort (sun exposure, tanning beds, and artificial sunless tanning lotions) is not allowed in the treated areas during the entire course of the treatment, and for at least one month after the last treatment. Tanning after treatment may cause hyperpigmentation.
